Party Games - W's
Water Balloon Games
Depending on how many guests you have and which game you select you may nee to fill up over 100 water balloons before the party starts. The first game involves teams of two. Each team gets one balloon. They start really close to each other and the teammates have to toss them back and forth, with each successful toss they both take one step back. If your balloon pops then you are out. The last team standing wins. The second game is hot potato but you sit the kids further away from each other so they have to toss it. Everyone who gets wet is out. and each person left with the balloon is out too. The third game, is free for all let them have a water war with the balloons. The last and final game. You give everyone a bucket as a party favor, and you tell them who ever picks up the most balloon pieces out of the yard gets the last and final prize. The kids will clean the yard so well.
What If - Group Game
Everyone sits in a circle and each person has a piece of notepaper and a pencil/pen. Each person then thinks of a sentence to write on the paper starting with WHAT IF... Be creative... (Example: What if John had a wig?, or What if the world was black and white?) Then each person passes their paper to the right and then each person answers the question they were handed. (Example...I'd use it as a Frisbee, or the world would be a much simpler place.) Once everyone is finished answering their question, start with one person in the circle and go to the right, the first person reads the what if question and the person to their right reads the answer they wrote for their question. (So it would be... What if John had a wig'? ....the world would be a much simpler place.) Then that same person who just read their answer now reads their question and the person the their right reads their answer and so on until you finish the circle.
What’s the time Mr Wolf?
This is not a new game but I've included it, as the little ones just love the excitement and anticipation. You or another child can be Mr Wolf and as you walk away, the children all follow you. They then say loudly "What's the time Mr Wolf?" and the wolf replies "It's 3 o’clock" or any time that he wishes. However when the wolf answers "It's 12 o’clock and dinner time", the kids have to all run away with the wolf running after them. The person he catches or the last one home is the next Mr Wolf.
Where's *** sock? Indoor
Equipment: Large sheet of plain paper, old magazines, pins or stickers
This is a fun game that singles out the child host and is similar to pin the tail on the donkey. In advance, stick coloured advertisements for rooms of furniture torn out from magazines on a large sheet of paper. Try and get it to 'vaguely'! resemble your house so include a kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, living room. Tell the children that "Mary" (use the name of the host child) has mislaid her/his sock and needs the children to help her/him find it. The children then pin on the picture where they think that the sock is. Beforehand put a sock in one of the spots and then you get all the children to run to their chosen place to see if they were correct.
Whistling Game
Okay, noise group? This will keep them quite for a little bit. Have a group of children sit on the floor and give each child 5 or 6 saltine crackers. Object of game is for the kids to eat the crackers as fast as possible (with no water), and the first person to be able to whistle after eating the crackers win.
