Party Games - C's
Cat Tails Game
Get long strips of cloth any extra you have a round make them at least one yard long and have the kids put them in the back of there pants, with it just hitting the ground. Then the kids run after each other trying to step on there tail. When they lose there tail they are out of the game the winner is the last one with a tail. A couple rounds of this game should tire them out real fast.
Cat and Mouse
This is rather like musical statues. Put on some music and the kids have to squeak and scuttle about like mice. The moment the music stops, the kids must be as still and as 'quiet as a mouse'. Anyone seen moving or making a noise is caught by the mouse (you) and is out of the game.
Charades
On little pieces of paper, write up a bunch of things to act out in pairs. Here is a list of some of the things you can act out: ballerina, baseball player, mountain climber, puppet maker, shoe polisher, dressmaker, singer, performer, juggler, dancer, (any kind of animal), and the list goes on. You divide the players into two teams. Whichever team guesses the right answer should go next a doing the charade. The object of the game is for the team to get the most points. This game is the most fun when you can make each thing pretty difficult to act out.
Clean Your Room Game
You'll need 2 socks for each player, some rice and a fence or some sort of divider. Fill each sock with rice or beans, about half full. Tie a knot in them. You'll need a fence or some sort of divider, consider string a line from one tree to another if you have no other options. Place kids on each side of rope and place the same amount of socks on each side. Have the kids throw the socks back over the rope, in order to clean there room. Give them a minute or two and then end the game. The side with the most socks after a minute is the winning team.
Count the Pebbles
For children who have learned to count, this is a great way for them to show off their new skill. Sit all the children on the floor with their backs to you and stand behind them with a biscuit tin. Drop at irregular intervals ten or more pebbles into the tin. The kids have to try and count them out loud and say the correct answer. This can get very loud and confusing but the kids love it.
Copy Cat Indoor
A great game for the 2 – 4 year olds who love to imitate. Sit on a chair facing the children who are sitting at your feet. Say that as you point to a part of your body and name it, followed by "meow", they have to imitate it followed by the word "meow". For example, point to your chin and say "chin, chin, chin, meow", whereupon they all follow suit. Now point to your eyes and say "eyes, eyes, eyes" and make sure that no one is a copycat, if they are, they are out.
Cotton Ball Game
Supplies: Bag of cotton balls, two large bowls, a blindfold and a wooden spoon. The goal is to move as many cotton balls as possible with three "scoops" of the wooden spoon, from one bowl to the other - - blindfolded. The person that moves the most cotton balls into the other bowl wins. Cotton balls that fall on the ground don't count. In case of a tie, go additional rounds.
